NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 3, 2026) – The University of North Alabama women's tennis team suffered a defeat by the Lipscomb Bisons on Friday with a 4-1 result in Nashville, Tenn.

North Alabama (14-4) fell to the Bisons in only the second loss in the previous 15 contests. The dual started competitively in doubles, but Lipscomb fended off a Lions' surge for the early advantage. The Bisons continued in singles taking three of the four completed bout enroute to the home win.

Despite the result, junior Mathilde Delaney was victorious in her respective singles contest. She claimed her 10th of the season with a straight-set triumph from court three. The win also marked her first against a conference opponent this season.

The contest began with junior Louise Booker and freshman Sammie Schouten dropping a tight 6-4 bout to Kameliia Tytarenko and Martina Bovio from court three. Lipscomb claimed the doubles point after Delaney and junior Emma Ansorge fell in a 6-4 battle from court one against Mariia Dolzhenko and Serafima Bobrovnikova.

Dolzhenko won the first singles match in 6-2, 6-0 win over Ansorge from court two. Delaney answered from the third flight with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Deborah Dominguez Collado.

Schouten and Bobrovnikova battled from court four, but Lipscomb took a 3-1 team lead after a 6-4, 7-5 win by Bobrovnikova. The final Bisons win came from court six as Sofiia Zhylchuk defeated senior Senem Ocal, 7-5, 6-1.
