FLORENCE, Ala. (September 17, 2026) – University of North Alabama Director of Tennis Olaya Garrido-Rivas announced the women's tennis 2026 fall schedule on Thursday.
North Alabama will participate in five events this fall to prepare for the 2027 spring season. The Lions will have one September event, where they will compete in the Lipscomb/Belmont Invite in Nashville, Tenn. on Sept. 25-27.
Following the Lipscomb/Belmont Invite, the schedule features three October events and one November event. The Lions will have their ITA Regionals in Baton Rouge, La., hosted by Louisiana State University to open the October slate. This event will last from Oct. 8-12.
The Lions will then head to Clarksville, Tenn., where they will compete in the United Athletic Conference Individual Tournament, hosted by Austin Peay. UNA will conclude its October events in Rome, Ga. for a UTR Invite. This event will last from Oct. 29-Nov. 1.
UNA will have their last confirmed tournament of the fall season, the Samford Hidden Dual. This event will last from Nov. 6-8, and is hosted by Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
Finally, if players qualify, the Lions will have the ITA Conference Masters Championships, which will happen on Nov. 5-8. If players qualify, they will go to this event rather than the Samford Hidden Dual. This event will take place at the Rome Tennis Center in Rome, Ga.
"I am excited to watch the girls compete this fall," said Garrido-Rivas. "We have a challenging schedule, and we are looking to continue the momentum we built up last season. I think we have a great group this year with a great combination of returning players and newcomers. Roar Lions!"
North Alabama is coming off an impressive season after finishing the 2026 spring with a 17-7 record and beating a Power Four team for the first time in program history with a postseason win over Kansas State. The Lions produced three All-ASUN selections, with Eeva Ristola earning First Team All-ASUN, Emma Ansorge earning Second Team All-ASUN and Sammie Schouten earning ASUN All-Freshman honors.
