Biography
2019 BEACH: Maldonado saw action in 14 matches during UNA's first-ever beach volleyball season in 2019...she played every match with teammate Ashtyn Kapovich at positions 2, 3 and 4...went 2-7 at No. 2 and 2-2 at No. 4 in ASUN play.
UNA INDOOR: Maldonado also played the 2018 season for the UNA indoor volleyball team...she played in 13 matches with eight starts on the right side..finished the season with 53 kills...averaged 1.36 kills per set...also added 16 digs and 16 blocks...had a career-high 11 kills on Oct. 14 against North Florida.
OTHER COLLEGE: She played two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College under coach Albino Canales...helped lead the Cougars to consecutive regional championships in 2016 and 2017...recorded a two-year total of 319 kills, including 239 as a sophomore...also added 55 digs, 28 total blocks and three service aces.
HIGH SCHOOL: She played at Colegio Carmen Sol as an outside hitter…received the 'Premio El Sol' academic award.
PERSONAL: Her full name is Joisemarie Maldonado Pabón. She is the daughter of José A. Maldonado and Glorivee Pabón. She was born on March 3, 1998 and has two sisters. She is majoring in language at UNA.
