Zach Lisko has completed five seasons as as an assistant coach at North Alabama and will work with UNA's offensive line again in 2021, while also taking on the role of run game coordinator.

    After working with the defensive line the at UNA in 2016 and 2017, Lisko moved to the offensive side in 2018 and helped lead the Lions to a 7-3 record in their first season of Division I FCS competition. Last season he continued to work with the offensive line before also taking on some play-calling duties in the spring

    Lisko has also previously served as UNA's recruiting coordinator.

    UNA's 2017 defensive unit was among the best in the NCAA Division II, ranking 16th in total defense (286.2), 18th in scoring defense (17.5), fifth for fewest passing yards allowed (145.3) and seventh for pass efficiency defense (94.89). That unit produced All-Gulf South Conference performers in linemen Freddie Reed and Maurice Burton, Jr.

    In 2016, UNA's defense was third in the nation in scoring defense (14.5), fourth in pass interceptions (23) and second in turnovers gained (36).

    That unit included All-Gulf South Conference defensive linemen Freddie Reed and Eddquerion Harris.

    Those efforts helped lead the Lions to an 11-2 record, a fourth straight Gulf South Conference Championship and a finish as the NCAA Division II National runner-up.

    In 2015, Lisko served as a full-time assistant coach at Southern Arkansas after spending two years as a graduate assistant for the Mulerider football team. He worked with the defensive line all three seasons.

    Prior to going to SAU, Lisko played collegiality as an offensive lineman at the University of Arkansas during the 2008 season before transferring to Arkansas State University for the remainder of his collegiate career.
