Haley Troup enters her first season with the Lions after being announced by UNA Head Women's Basketball Coach Candi Whitaker on May 21, 2024.

She comes to UNA after serving as a graduate assistant with the University of Missouri women’s basketball team for the 2023-2024 season, a role she acquired following her playing days with the Tigers.

Prior to her role as a graduate assistant, Troup concluded her playing career as one of the most decorated Tigers in program history.

She led the Tigers to 101 wins, four postseason appearances and two trips to the NCAA Tournament. Additionally, Troup was a member of consecutive 24-win seasons from 2017-19. She finished her career averaging six points per game with 282 rebounds, 295 assists and 57 steals. Troup ranks in the top 10 in career three-point shooting for Mizzou, totaling 141 to rank seventh in program history.

Off the court, Troup represented the Tigers on the 2022 SEC Community Service Team, served on the 2022 SEC Basketball Leadership Council and was a four-time member of the SEC honor roll.

A former high school standout in the state of Alabama, Troup was the 2016-17 7A Alabama Player of the Year and an Alabama Super All-State First Team selection after an illustrious career at Gadsden City High School. She totaled 2,284 points, 1,235 rebounds and 842 assists in her career with the Titans, averaging 19.4 points and seven rebounds per game in her senior season in 2016-17.

A two-time graduate of Missouri, Troup holds a master’s of education with an emphasis in positive coaching and a bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation, sport and tourism with an emphasis in sport management.
