Former UNA player Kenysha Coulson enters her first year as an assistant coach after her promotion on September 12, 2023.

Coulson joined the staff as a graduate assistant following her playing career for both the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons. For the 2022-2023 season, she served as the Director of Operations and now takes on a full-time assistant coaching role.
 
Lettering from 2017-20, Coulson was a part of a senior class that won more games than any group in program history. The three-year letterman played in 82 games with 60 starts during her career. She scored 648 points, pulled down 458 rebounds and dished out 232 assists.

The Huntsville, Ala. native began her college career at Lawson State Community College before transferring to North Alabama as a sophomore in 2017-18. In three seasons with the Lions, Coulson had the unique experience of playing with the Lions in the last season of Division II play and two years into the university's transition to the full Division I level.

She graduated from UNA in 2020 with a degree in exercise physiology and received her master's degree in sports management in 2022.
