Biography

UNA 2017-18: Madden saw action in 28 games as a true freshman for UNA last season...she scored 138 points, averaging 4.9 points per game...led the team in three-point shooting percentage, going 30-of-76 (39.5 percent) from long range...was 28-of-36 from the free throw line...added 51 rebounds, 11 assists, six steals and four blocked shots on the year...reached double figures in scoring six times, including a season-high 14 points twice.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played for coach Donnie Roberts at Red Bay High School, where she helped lead the Tigers to a Class 2A state championship in 2015, as well as a runner-up finish in 2014...averaged 16.4 points per game as a senior and wrapped her career with 2,240 career points...made 26 three-pointers in 2017 and shot 80 percent from the free throw line...reached double figures in 28 games and led the team in rebounds and blocked shots...was a two-time ASWA All-State selection and was named MVP of the 2015 state tournament...was a four-time all-area selection and was also a member of the AHSAA North/South All-Star Team.

PERSONAL: Her full name is Darby Alexis Madden. She is the daughter of Jeff and Crista Madden. She was born on September 15, 1998 and has one brother, Dakota. She is majoring in elementary education at UNA.
