Biography
UNA 2018-19: Wallen started all 30 games for the Lions last season...she was a first team All-ASUN selection after averaging 13.9 points and 34.9 minutes per game...she led the conference and was eighth in the nation with 6.57 assists per game...finished the year with an ASUN-leading 197 assists...also had 138 rebounds, 46 steals and four blocked shots on the year...was named ASUN Player of the Week on Dec. 23...had 23 games with double digit scoring, including a trio of 30-point showings and a career-high 35 points Jan. 22 against Kennesaw State...had seven games with double-digit assist totals, including a pair of 14-assist games on the year...reached 1,000 career points on Dec. 17 at Mississippi Valley State and enters her senior season in fourth place in program history with 1,327 career points. Â
UNA 2017-18: She started the first 19 games of the season before suffering a season-ending injury on Jan. 25...averaged 17.5 points per game for the Lions, who finished the season with a 24-5 record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2013...added 100 rebounds and 33 steals on the year...was named the NCAA Division II statistical champion after averaging 9.4 assists per game...received All-America honorable mention honors by the WBCA and was also named first team All-Gulf South Conference and first team All-South Region by D2CCA...reached double figures in scoring in 18 games, including a career-high 34 points on Jan. 13 at West Georgia. She also produced seven straight games with double-digit assist totals, highlighted by a UNA and GSC single-game record of 20 on Jan. 2 at Mississippi College...added a 3.39 GPA and was a GSC Winter All-Academic selection.
UNA 2016-17: She became the most decorated freshman to ever play for the UNA women's basketball program after starting all 29 games for the Lions during the 2016-17 campaign...led the Gulf South Conference in scoring and finished just outside the Top 10 in all of Division II with a 19.9 points-per-game average...received an honorable mention by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-America team...was also a second team All-South Region pick by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and first team All-GSC pick after being named the league's Freshman of the Year...was a five-time GSC Freshman of the Week and two-time Player of the Week honoree...reached double figures in scoring in 25 games, including 16 20-plus point performances and a pair of 30-plus showings...scored 578 points, the fourth-highest single-season total in program history...made 154 free throws, including an 11-for-11 showing on Nov. 11 vs. Claflin to set single-season and single-game records.
HIGH SCHOOL: She played guard at Lauderdale County High School for coach Brant Llewellyn…helped lead the team to five consecutive Class 3A state championships from 2012-2016...was a four-time All-State selection...named MVP of the 2013 and 2014 Northwest Regional Tournament and was the state tournament MVP as a junior…also named the 2014 TimesDaily Player of the Year.
PERSONAL: Her full name is Ivy Jane Wallen. She is the daughter of Billy and Buffy Wallen. She was born on May 3, 1997 and has two brothers and two sisters. She is majoring in criminal justice at UNA.
