Biography

UNA 2018-19: Austin played in 22 games during her sophomore season...she averaged three rebounds and 2.9 points per contest...shot 56.5 percent from the floor and was 11-of-23 from the free throw line...equalled her career-high of nine points during an 88-63 win at Tennessee State on Nov. 18...reached double figures in rebounds twice, grabbing 12 boards against TSU and Oakwood.

UNA 2018-19: She saw action in 21 games as a true freshman for the Lions in the 2018-19 season...averaged 1.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game...connected on 12-of-21 shots from the floor for a team-high 57.1 shooting percentage...added five blocked shots...scored a season-high nine points on Nov. 17 at home against Stillman College.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played for coach Scott Blair at McAdory High School…was a power forward and center, earning all-tournament honors in 2016…received an honorable mention as a junior and was named to the AHSAA North-South All-Star Team...averaged 10.8 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.9 blocks per game in 2017...also lettered in volleyball for the Class 6A Yellow Jackets.
 
PERSONAL: Her full name is Jaylin Marisa Austin. She is the daughter of Jacques and Jackie Austin. She was born on March 4, 2000 and has one sister. She is majoring in chemical engineering at UNA.
