Biography

UNA 2016-17: DeKilder saw action in all 29 games for the Lions last year, including 18 starts...she led the team and was sixth in the Gulf South Conference in rebounding, averaging 8.6 boards per game...also averaged 6.1 points per contest while totaling 24 assists, 30 steals and nine blocked shots...shot 52.2 percent from the floor on 59-of-113 shooting on the year...produced three double-doubles on the season, including a 14-point, 20-rebound showing on Jan. 9 during a 75-53 home win over Union...finished the year with 10 games with at least 10 rebounds...scored a season-high 17 points and pulled double 18 rebounds on Jan. 19 during a 74-69 home win over Lee.

OTHER COLLEGE: She played for Kalamazoo Valley Community College for head coach Maureen Brown…averaged 8.9 points and 12.0 rebounds per game...recorded 20 double-doubles, pulling down at least 10 rebounds 23 times...helped lead Kalamazoo Valley to a 29-2 record, including a 16-0 record in conference play and the MCCAA championship...was a second-team All-MCCAA selection and was named to the Western Conference All-Defensive team...also named to the NJCAA Region IX District G All-Tournament team...also lettered two years for the Cougars volleyball team, earning all-region, all-conference and academic all-conference honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: She played for Gobles High School for coach John Curtis…helped lead the team to a conference championship during her junior and senior seasons and district titles during her freshman and senior years...also led the team to a regional championship and a state Final Four appearance as a senior...was a three-time first team all-conference selection...named first team All-State BCAM her junior and senior year and first team All-State by the Detroit Free Press as a senior...scored 1,061 career points and holds the school record for most career rebounds (881) and most career steals (214).

PERSONAL: Her full name is Michaela Michelle DeKilder. She is the daughter of Don and Trish DeKilder. She was born on July 11, 1996 and has one brother. She is majoring in nursing at UNA.
