"We are excited to have Brooks join our staff," said Prachniak at the time of hire. "Coach Dubose is a talented assistant coach who will be able to help in all areas of our program. During the hiring process Brooks showed an authentic enthusiasm that he wanted to be part of the University of North Alabama, we are looking forward to the impact he will have on campus and in the Shoals community.”
Outside of New Orleans, DuBose has made stops at Lee University, Knights Baseball Organization and the Spearfish Sasquatch. While in Tennessee with the Knights, he worked at HIT Nashville which promoted strength training and fundamental development for baseball players.

He led the development for all infielders and hitters during the 2019 summer. The Sasquatch set the franchise steals record with 191 in the 64-game span.
After the Sasquatch, he led the Knights in May 2020. DuBose oversaw the growth of the 18U team that compromised mostly of NAIA, Division III and Division II players. As he helped lead the team to a ranking of 38th in the nation, according to Perfect Game, he also helped those that were uncommitted to find a home at the next level.
After his playing days came to a close in 2021, he made his way to Lee University where he worked towards his M.B.A. while working as a graduate assistant under Mark Brew.
He oversaw the infield positional players while assisting the hitters and coaching up the first basemen. While at Lee, he started his trek on the recruiting path as well for the first time in his career. DuBose helped his team become Gulf South Conference Champions during the 2022 season, defeating Shorter 19-8 to win the conference title. The team later competed in the NCAA Division II South Regionals while boasting a 33-24 record for the year.
After his two years at Lee, he made the jump to Division I in January 2023 with the University of New Orleans. DuBose made the most of his time with the Privateers as an assistant coach.
He coached the hitters, oversaw the infielders and coached first base while also having his hand in recruitment for the team.
His 2023 team finished 36-24 top achieve a top 100 RPI. That Privateer team led the Southland Conference in batting average, home runs, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, fielding percentage and double plays.
These metrics were not just best in the SLC, but also among the top in Division I.
UNO fielded a collective .981, best for 10th in Division I and turned 53 double plays which tied for 10th in NCAA. The double plays continued in 2024 as New Orleans led the SLC in that category for two straight seasons.
DuBose coached two SLC Hitters of the Year, 10 All-SLC hitters and three All-SLC Defensive Team players. Of course, two of the three seasons saw the team advance to the SLC Tournament Championship.
Now, the Nashville native makes his way to Florence to join the North Alabama staff that saw their best year in program history with a birth to the ASUN Tournament for the first time.
“I am incredibly grateful to Coach Prachniak for the opportunity to join his staff,” said DuBose. “Prachniak is a proven winner, and I am excited to get to work so that I can learn under him. Watching North Alabama’s rise over the past few years has been impressive, and I am looking forward to now being a part of that continued success. I can’t wait to get to Florence and start working with our guys. Roar Lions!”
