Florence native, Megan Dye, joined the University of North Alabama Athletics staff in August of 2013 and currently serves as Associate Athletic Director for External Relations, where she oversees all external initiatives and leads the department’s external team.
Dye began her career at UNA as the Director of Development for Athletics from 2013–2018. She later served as Associate Athletic Director for Annual Giving and Alumni Relations before assuming her current role in 2023. In her position, she leads the planning and execution of marketing and social media strategies, oversees booster club operations and annual giving efforts, manages alumni engagement and donor hospitality, and plans and executes departmental special events.
During her time at North Alabama, Dye has played a key role in the growth of the department’s external efforts, including a 94% increase in booster club funding. She has also developed several signature events, including the Lions Athletic Club Dinner and Auction and the UNA Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament.
Prior to UNA, Dye served as a Community Representative for the American Cancer Society from 2010–2013, where her efforts helped secure more than $1 million in donations for the Shoals area. She was recognized with the 2012 Associate Commendation of Excellence Award for the MidSouth Division.
Dye graduated from Auburn University in May 2010 with a degree in Communication and Business.
She has been actively involved in numerous university and community initiatives, including serving on the planning committee for the Year of the UNA Woman celebration, as well as the Homecoming and Light the Fountain planning committees. She also actively serves with the Birthday Fairy organization.
In 2021, Dye was honored by the UNA National Alumni Association with the Friend of the University award for her service to North Alabama.
She also serves as the women’s golf, mascot, cheer and dance team administrator.
Megan is married to former UNA football standout Ches Dye, and together they have a son, Easton, and a daughter, Livi.
