JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 17, 2025) – On Monday, the Atlantic Sun Conference announced its second set of weekly awards for this men's basketball season. University of North Alabama redshirt junior Corneilous Williams was named ASUN Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
The redshirt junior from Beaumont, Miss. had a stellar week that included a career-high 28 points to go with 16 rebounds, three steals, three assists and two blocks in an overtime win over Northwestern State last Tuesday. He also recorded zero turnovers.
This past Saturday, Williams added seven points and a game-high 12 rebounds in a 78-74 loss to ETSU. For the week, he averaged 17.5 points per game and 14.0 rebounds per game. His assist/turnover ratio was 3.0.
Williams currently ranks third in the NCAA with 53 rebounds over four games. He also ranks fifth in the country with 13.3 RPG. Both totals lead the ASUN. He has double-digit rebound totals in all four games this season.
Williams is living up to his preseason hype, as he was one of two unanimous picks on the preseason all-conference team along with ASUN Preseason Player of the Year Chris Ashby from Queens.
This marks the third weekly award for Williams in two seasons at UNA. The other two were ASUN Newcomer of the Week awards on Nov. 18, 2024 and Feb. 8, 2025.
The Lions will play at Clemson tonight at 8 p.m. CT on ACC Network.
