CLEVELAND, Tenn., – Trailing 0-2 after dropping the first two sets at Lee, the University of North Alabama volleyball won three straight games to rally for a key Gulf South Conference victory on Saturday. The 22-25, 14-25, 25-17, 25-14, 15-12 victory gives the Lions a 10-1 overall record with a 2-1 mark in GSC play.

Less than 24 hours after falling 3-2 at Shorter, UNA avoided a two-match losing streak with another five-set thriller. Following a pair of double-digit wins to tie the match, the Lions broke a 12-12 deadlock in the fifth set with three straight points to secure the victory.

Back-to-back kills by Natasha Fomina and Peyton Lang gave UNA a match point before Ana Gabriela Pacheco ended the match with a kill in the middle.

Fomina had 15 kills to lead the Lions. Jessica Austin hit .440 for the match and finished with 13 kills. Lang added 11 kills and had a .323 hitting percentage. Jayden Davila-McClary recorded 40 assists for the Lions.

Three players reached double figures in dig totals, including a match-high 20 by UNA's Ashtyn Kapovich. Sarah Ann Tillery added 11 digs while Lang turned in 10 digs on the day.

Lee (3-4 overall, 0-2 GSC) was led by Silvia Sartori's match-high 17 kills.

UNA will return home for its next two GSC matches. The Lions will host Union Friday at 7 p.m. before playing Christian Brothers at 1 p.m. the following day at Flowers Hall.
