LIONS SWEEP CBU TO IMPROVE TO 12-1

FLORENCE –Peyton Lang and Jessica Austin had 10 kills each and the University of North Alabama volleyball used another solid offensive outing in a 3-0 home sweep over Christian Brothers on Saturday. The 25-17, 25-12, 25-13 victory gives the Lions a 12-1 overall record and a 4-1 mark in Gulf South Conference play.
 
Less than 24 hours after hitting .512 as a team, UNA recorded 45 kills and hit .318 for the match. Five different players notched at least six kills. Austin hit .529 on the day to up her season hitting percentage to .393. Her kill at match point in the third set secured the win.
 
Jayden Davila-McClary had 39 assists on the day while Ashtyn Kapovich (24 digs) reached the 20-dig plateau for the third time in the last four matches.
 
Emma Lenoir led Christian Brothers (7-4 overall, 3-3 GSC) with nine kills.
 
UNA will play at West Georgia on Tuesday night before returning to Flowers Hall for its next two GSC contests.
