MONTEVALLO – Three players reached double digits in kills as Montevallo picked up a 3-1 home victory over North Alabama Tuesday evening in Gulf South Conference volleyball action. The 26-28, 22-25, 25-20, 24-26 loss drops UNA to third place in the GSC standings with a 6-2 league mark. The Lions are 18-6 overall.

The balanced attack by the Falcons (9-10 overall, 4-5 GSC) was enough to counter UNA's duo of Lexie Bradley and Jessica Austin, who combined for 48 kills. The rest of the team managed just 19 kills on the night.

After winning the first two sets, Montevallo was in position to get the sweep before UNA used a late run to extend the match with a 25-20 win. The Falcons led 24-21 in the final set before North Alabama fought off three straight match points to tie the score at 24-24. Montevallo responded with two straight points to secure the win.

Bradley led the way with a match-high 28 kills and a .345 hitting percentage. She added 11 digs on the night for her fourth double-double in the last five matches. Her final swing of the night, however, was blocked to seal the win by Montevallo.

Austin hit .326 and added 20 kills while Jayden Davila-McClary tied a season-high with 61 assists. Defensively, Ashtyn Kapovich turned in a match-high 26 digs. Ava Carnley added 15 digs for the Lions.

UNA will return home to host Union on Friday. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
