VOLLEYBALL RALLIES FOR 3-1 WIN AT WEST ALABAMA

LIVINGSTON – After dropping the opening set at West Alabama, the University of North Alabama volleyball rebounded to post three straight victories to earn a 3-1 Gulf South Conference road win Sunday afternoon. The 24-26, 25-16, 25-22, 25-23 victory puts the Lions back in second place in the GSC standings with a 22-6 overall record and 10-2 league mark.
 
Jessica Austin had a match-high 20 kills and hit .654 to lead UNA. The senior from Farmington Hills, Mich., leads the GSC and has moved into the Top 3 in the nation in hitting percentage with a .426 showing on the year.
 
Lexie Bradley overcame a slow start to finish with 19 kills. After recording two kills in the opening frame, she led the way with 17 kills, three service aces and a block down the stretch. Jayden Davila-McClary paced the offensive attack with 50 assists. As a team UNA hit .271 on the day.
 
Defensively, Ashtyn Kapovich notched 20 digs to lead all players. She now has 506 digs on the season.

Briana Sandifer led West Alabama (16-11 overall, 8-3 GSC) with 16 kills.
 
UNA will continue its GSC road swing on Friday at Christian Brothers. Match time is set for 7 p.m. at Canale Arena on the CBU campus in Memphis.
