UNA WOMEN DOWN TREVECCA 85-54

NASHVILLE, Tenn., – Emma Wallen scored 30 points while her sister, Ivy scored 10 points and dished out 13 assists as the University of North Alabama women's basketball team routed Trevecca Nazarene 85-54 Saturday afternoon on the road. The win keeps UNA perfect on the season at 5-0.
 
Ansley Eubank (13 assists) and Brittany Panetti (13 points) rounded out the list of double-digit performers on the day for the Lions. For the game, UNA shot 45.5 percent from the floor and dominated the glass with a 52-34 rebounding advantage.
 
A basket by Panetti in the game's opening minute gave North Alabama a 2-0 lead and the Lions never trailed in the contest. UNA led 24-12 at the end of the first quarter.
 
Trevecca (2-3) got within five midway through the second quarter, but could get no closer. After a basket cut the UNA lead to 26-21 at the 5:21 mark, a three-point basket by Darby Madden sparked a 6-0 run by the Lions to stretch the lead back to double digits. The Trojans got within eight in the final 2:58 of the half before another 10-0 UNA run gave the Lions a 42-24 lead at the break.
 
The lead continued to grow in the second half. North Alabama led by as many as 26 in the period when a three-pointer by Emma Wallen made the score 60-34 with 3:57 remaining. UNA took a 20-point lead into the fourth quarter and outscored the home team 19-7 in the final period.
 
UNA now turns its attention to Gulf South Conference play. The Lions will play at West Alabama on Nov. 30. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at Pruitt Hall on the UWA campus in Livingston.
