PEMBROKE, N.C. -- University of North Alabama junior safety Chris Johnson has been named to the 2017 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Region Football team in voting by the division's sports information directors.

A native of Birmingham, Ala., Johnson ranked among the NCAA Division II national leaders in interceptions this seson with six and was UNA's fourth leading tackler with 50 stops. He was previously selected first-team All-Gulf South Conference and was a leader on a UNA defensive unit that allowed just 17.5 points per game this season.

Johnson was a first-team selection on the D2CCA All-Super Region 2 team.
