MONTEVALLO, Ala. -- University of North Alabama junior forward
Kylie Huey found the back of the net in the 83rd minute to lift the UNA women's soccer team to its fifth straight win with a 1-0 Gulf South Conference road victory over Montevallo.
The Lions, now 5-1 overall and 4-0 in the GSC, appeared headed to overtime in a defensive struggle with the Falcons. But UNA received a free kick after a foul at 82:25 and Huey scored her fifth goal of the season off an assist from
Haley Yarber. It was Huey's 22nd career goal, moving her past Allison Harris into ninth place on UNA's all-time goals scored list.
UNA out-shot Montevallo 13-8 in the match and got three saves from keeper
Shelby Thornton, who recorded her first shutout of the season.
