FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama volleyball team improved to 12-3 on the season and 2-1 in Gulf South Conference play with a 3-0 win over Valdosta State Saturday afternoon at Flowers Hall. The 25-19, 25-23, 25-13 victory represents the third straight sweep over the Blazers.

Lexie Bradley led all players with 17 kills while Jessica Austin hit .474 on the day with nine kills. Madison Ruble also had a solid match with nine kills, five digs and three blocks.

The Lions held VSU to a -.010 hitting percentage, its lowest of the season. The Blazers (7-5 overall, 2-2 GSC) had a negative percentage in two of the three sets and also recorded a season-low 23 kills.

Jayden Davila-McClary added 36 assists and 10 digs to record her ninth double-double of the season. Ashtyn Kapovich also had a match-high 12 digs for the Lions.

UNA will hit the road for its next GSC match. The Lions will play at West Georgia on Tuesday. Match time is set for 6 p.m. (Eastern) at The Coliseum on the UWG campus.
