UNA WOMEN FINISH ROAD SWING UNBEATEN

MONTGOMERY – Brittany Panetti scored 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the University of North Alabama women's basketball team to a 66-51 win at Auburn Montgomery on Monday. The win gives the Lions a 16-1 record on the season, including a perfect 9-0 mark on the road. UNA also maintains second place in the Gulf South Conference standings with a 9-1 league mark.
 
UNA took a 38-23 lead into the half and used a 17-7 third-quarter run to pull away. Panetti scored eight points in the frame as the Lions extended their lead to 55-30. AUM was able to close the game in the final quarter but could get no closer than 15 points.
 
Ivy Wallen added 12 points, eight rebounds and seven assists on the night. Emma Wallen rounded out the top scorers for North Alabama with 11 points.
 
For the game, UNA enjoyed a 43-34 rebounding advantage, including 18 offensive boards that led to 22 second-chance points. The Lions also held a commanding 41-22 advantage in points in the paint.
 
Makaylla Bullard led Auburn Montgomery (7-9 overall, 3-6 GSC) with 13 points.
 
UNA will play at UAH on Jan. 20. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. at Spragins Hall on the UAH campus.
