FLORENCE, Ala. – The University of North Alabama broke a 3-3 tie with a 10-run seventh inning and held on for a 13-10 baseball win over Alabama A&M at Mike Lane Field.
A&M led 3-1 early before UNA tied the game in the sixth inning. The Lions then blew the game open with a 10-run seventh that included a grand-slam from
Kyle Hubbuch and a solo homer from
Brandt Holland. The Bulldogs bounced back with seven runs in the top of the eighth to close the gap to 13-10.

Channing Wall retired the Bulldogs in order in the ninth to preserve the win and earn his fourth save of the season.
With the win, North Alabama is now 19-11 overall, while Alabama A&M falls to 6-19.
UNA scored a run in the bottom of the first for a 1-0 lead but A&M got three runs in the fourth on home runs from Carson McGregory and Tyus O'Neal.
The Lions got single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to tie the game at 3-3.
In the seventh, North Alabama had 12 consecutive batters reach base as the Lions plated 10 runs.

Bryant Claunch came on to stop the threat.
Jonathan Cook (1-0) got the win for UNA with three scoreless innings of relief. He allowed just one hit and struckout three.
T.J. Lockett was four-for-five with three runs scored, while Holland was three-for-four for UNA with two runs scored and an RBI. Hubbuch was two-for-three with two runs scored, five runs batted in and three bases on balls.
Tate Mathis was two-for-four with two runs scored and three RBI, including a solo home run.
Payton Thomas also had two hits and two RBI.
With his 10
th home run of the season, Hubbuch became the first player in UNA history to hit 10 or more home runs in three different seasons. He also extended his school record for career homers to 37.
North Alabama plays a three-game Gulf South Conference series at West Alabama beginning Friday.
