In the opener, Brewer was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Magan Garst got the complete game shutout in the circle for the Lions.

UNA scored all four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Westfall led off the frame with a solo home run. Singles by Meleah Hargett and Bailey Nelson then put runners on base before a walk by Brewer loaded the bases. Brown then doubled to drive home two runs and give North Alabama a 3-0 lead. Brewer also scored in the inning on an RBI-ground out by Hannah Shollenberger to round out the scoring.

Nelson and Shollenberger each finished the first game 2-for-4 at the plate.
