HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. -- The University of North Alabama men's golf team is 16th after the opening round of the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular being played at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.

UNA turned in a 24-over-par, 312 total in the first round. Illinois State leads the 18-team field with a nine-under-par 279, followed by Kansas State, Yale, UCF and Eastern Michigan under par.

Eli Hodges led all UNA golfers in the opening round with a 75 to tie for 38th individually. UNA's Aaron Jackson is tied for 51st (76) Payton Massey is tied for 85th (80), Jackson Wedgeworth is tied for 90th (81) and Thomas Luther is tied for 102nd (84).
