After West Virginia scored the game's first four points, UNA answered with two baskets from Roberts and a driving layup by Macey Lee. The early 6-4 advantage for the Lions represented the first time the Mountaineers (3-0) have trailed all season.

North Alabama later led 12-8 on a three-point basket by Noah and held a 13-11 advantage with 3:59 remaining in the opening stanza. West Virginia, however, closed the period on a 9-0 run before stretching the lead to double digits in the second quarter.

Noah opened the second quarter with a three-pointer to cut the deficit to 20-16 before back-to-back treys by the Mountaineers made it a 10-point game at the 8:53 mark. UNA got within nine points twice before West Virginia took a 40-27 lead into the half.

The two teams traded baskets early in the third quarter before UNA missed 10 straight shots from the floor and West Virginia took advantage with a 13-0 run. Noah ended the drought with a basket with 1:27 remaining, but the home team had built a 55-31 lead.

The Lions trailed 65-48 with 4:38 to play before the Mountaineers closed the game on a 15-3 run.

Macey Lee rounded out the top scorers for UNA with 10 points, giving the freshman double figures in three of her first four games of the season. For West Virginia, nine different players scored, led by Kysre Gondrezick's 20 points.
