REES, BISHOP EARN GSC ALL-DECADE HONORS

BIRMINGHAM – Two former University of North Alabama women's tennis players have received Gulf South Conference Team of the Decade honors. Victoria Rees was named second team All-Decade while Mackenzie Bishop received an All-Decade honorable mention.

Rees lettered with the Lions from 2009-12 and was a three-time first team All-GSC honoree. She played all 51 matches at UNA at No. 1 singles during that span, posting a 33-18 record. She helped lead the Lions to a berth in the 2011 NCAA Division II South Regional and also earned GSC All-Academic honors in 2011 and 2012.

Bishop also posted three straight first team All-GSC honors from 2011-13. The daughter of UNA head tennis coach Brice Bishop posted a 35-19 singles record with every match coming at either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot. Her doubles record was 36-17, including every match at the top position during her junior and senior seasons. Bishop was also a member of UNA's 2011 NCAA Tournament team and posted GSC All-Academic honors in 2012 and 2013.
