FLORENCE, Ala. (May 12, 2026) – University of North Alabama women's tennis player Mathilde Delaney was selected to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday morning.
Delaney continues to receive academic postseason recognition with her second of the campaign. She earns her first career CSC All-District Team nod after securing a spot on the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Academic Team for the first time in her career back on April 13.
The Montreal, Quebec, Canada native represents Women Tennis' fourth Division I academic postseason honor recipient in program history. It also marks the second straight season UNA's been represented on the team after Stanislava Bobrovnikova became the program's first Division I selection in 2025.
The junior wrapped up the season winning 27 matches, sporting a 12-6 singles record and a 15-3 doubles record. She started the season 13-0 in doubles from Jan. 16 through March 31. Delaney secured three total wins in three ASUN duals during the regular season, tallying two doubles victories against EKU and North Florida with one singles triumph over Lipscomb.
She began the season ranked No. 104 nationally in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings, which marked the first time in UNA's Division I program history that a student-athlete earned an individual national ranking. She held the ranking for nearly three months from Nov. 25, 2025 through Feb. 4, 2026.
Delaney was key in helping North Alabama concluded the 2026 season with a 17-7 record – the second-most single-season wins in Division I program history. North Alabama additionally ended the campaign as runners up in the UTR Sports NIT Championships and semifinalists in the ASUN Tournament.
