VOLLEYBALL OPENS SEASON WITH 3-0 LOSS AT CHATTAGNOOGA

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn., - The University of North Alabama volleyball team opened the 2020-21 season with a 3-0 loss at Chattanooga on Friday. The Lions hit .044 as a team in the 25-18, 25-18, 25-18 loss.

The Mocs used late runs to pull away in each set to improve to 2-0 on the season. As a team, Chattanooga had nine total blocks. UNA had 22 attack errors.

Kamryn Parsonage led the Lions with 12 kills. The freshman from Cypress, Calif., added nine digs and a pair of block assists on the night. Anna Katherine Griggs hit .278 for the match with eight kills and three total blocks. Kennedey Johnson added 15 assists for the Lions.

Defensively, Elizabeth Ford led the way with 12 digs. Claire Bullington also reached double figures with 11 digs for North Alabama.

UNA will host Middle Tennessee next Friday in the team's home opener. Match time is set for 6 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
