FLORENCE – Five players reached double figures in scoring as the University of North Alabama men's basketball team recorded hits fourth straight win with a 103-40 victory over Carver College Sunday afternoon at Flowers Hall. The win gives UNA a 5-3 record on the season.

UNA raced out to a double-digit lead in the first five minutes of playing time. After Carver got an early three-pointer to cut the deficit to 6-5, the Lions reeled off 17 straight points to take control. Isaac Chatmat scored seven of the first 10 points, including a trey to give UNA a 16-5 lead at the 15:12 mark of the first half.

A three-pointer by Dallas Howell was followed by consecutive baskets by Damian Forrest to put the Lions ahead 23-5 with 13:09 remaining. The Cougars would not connect from the floor for more than six minutes during the UNA run.

North Alabama took a 47-22 lead into the break after Chatman dunked in a missed UNA jumper at the buzzer.

A 12-3 run to start the second half quickly stretched the lead to 30-plus points and the Lions never looked back over the final 20 minutes. UNA shot 56.8 percent from the floor in the second half and was able to empty its bench.

The lead surpassed 40 points with a jumper by Omar Figueroa made the score 69-28 with 11:44 remaining. Another trey by Ortiz made it 80-30 at the 9:34 mark.

The largest lead of the day came when a putback by Will Soucie gave the Lions a 101-35 lead with just over two minutes to play.

Soucie finished with 14 points while C.J. Brim had 13 points, six rebounds and three assists. Chatman had 12 points while Jamari Blackmon turned in 10 points on the day.
