LYNCHBURG, Va., – Host Liberty pulled away late to win the first two sets before rallying to win the third in a 3-0 sweep over the University of North Alabama volleyball team on Friday. With the loss, UNA falls to 1-12 on the season.

After dropping the first two sets, the Lions held a late lead in the third frame. A kill by Maggie Sullivan gave UNA a 19-16 advantage. After Liberty regained the lead with five straight points, UNA got a kill by Kamryn Parsonage and an attack error on the home team to tie the score at 21-21.

The Flames reached match point at 24-23 before a kill by Anna Katherine Griggs tied the score again. Liberty, however, answered with two straight kills to end the match.

Three players reached double figures in kills for the Flames, who hit .291 as a team. UNA was held to a .148 showing on the night.

Griggs posted team-high totals with seven kills and five blocks to lead UNA. Katie Gerig posted a match-high 21 digs while Kennedey Johnson had 12 assists and Breylee Linder added 11 assists for the match.

The same two teams will close the regular-season Sunday with a single match beginning at 3 p.m. (CST) at Liberty Arena.
