COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech broke open a scoreless game with a five-run fourth inning and went on to a 7-2 win over North Alabama.
With the loss, UNA falls to 0-6, while Tennessee Tech improved to 3-4.
UNA starter
Jacob Bradshaw (0-1) went three and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on two hits with three walks and two strikeouts.
Jacob Laws then came on in relief but walked all three batters that he faced. All three would eventually score before
Jacob James could close out the inning.
The Eagles added a single run in the fifth for a 6-0 lead and scored an additional run in the seventh to make it 7-0.
Keegan Foge pitched a scoreless inning in relief and
Austin Nichols pitched the final two innings, allowing one run on three hits.
North Alabama finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the ninth with two runs.
Devne Daniel got a leadoff single and
Kylan Barnett walked. With two outs,
Ben Kiefer singled to load the bases and
Landon Langston walked to drive in a run and get UNA on the board. A balk then allowed Barnett to score before the Eagles were able to end the threat with a strikeout of
Dominick McIntyre.
UNA out-hit Tennessee Tech eight to seven but left seven runners on base.Daniel and
Garrett Smith led UNA with two hits each.
North Alabama hosts a three-game series this weekend against Little Rock, beginning Friday at 5 p.m. at Mike Lane Field.
