UNA VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO NORTH FLORIDA

JACKSONVILLE – North Florida hit .389 as a team in a 3-0 sweep over the University of North Alabama volleyball team Sunday afternoon on the final day of the ASUN Crossover. With the 9-25, 19-25, 12-25 loss, UNA falls to 6-10 on the year with an 0-3 start to conference play.
 
The Ospreys took control in the opening set, hitting .381 while UNA was held to a negative percentage in the 25-9 win. A late surge lifted UNF to a victory in the second set. The Ospreys scored five of the final six points to get the win and grab a 2-0 overall lead in the match.
 
In the final set, the two teams battled to an early 7-7 tie before UNF took control. A 9-0 run gave the Ospreys a 16-7 lead and UNA was not able to recover.
 
North Alabama struggled at the net, hitting into 23 attack errors and five blocking errors. North Florida also had five aces while the Lions committed eight service errors.
 
Katy Floyd led UNA with eight kills on the day. Breylee Linder had 18 assists while Eli Ford led the way on defense with six digs.
 
UNA will travel to Louisville, Ky., for its next ASUN match. The Lions are set to take on Bellarmine on Oct. 1 at 4 p.m. (CST).
