FLORENCE, Ala. -- With the game tied 4-4 in the bottom of the seventh innings, North Alabama scored two runs to take a 6-4 lead and held Murray State scoreless over the final two innings for the win at Mike Lane Field.
UNA scored its winning runs without a hit, as
Zak Majer was hit by pitch,
Garrett Smith,
Cal Cook and
Luke Harper all walked to force in a run and Smith scored on a passed ball for the final run.
With the win, UNA improves to 9-25 on the season, while Murray State falls to 18-18.
North Alabama took a 2-0 lead in the first inning as Harper singled and later scored on a ground ball by
Jonathan Lane that earned him an RBI, but he reached on a throwing error. Lane then scored on an RBI-double by
Drew Hudson.
Murray State quickly tied the game with a two-run homer in the second inning, but UNA starter
Jacob Bradshaw then sat down the next 11 straight Racer batters.
The Lions added a run in the fifth when Hudson doubled again and scored on an RBI-double rom Smith.
In the sixth, Harper doubled and scored on
Reid Homan's RBI-double.
Murray State tied the game with two runs in the top of the seventh off Bradshaw.
Bradshaw pitched six complete innings, allowing four runs on three hits with two walks and nine strikeouts.
UNA then rallied for the winning runs in the bottom of the seventh.
Will Morris allowed just one hit in his one inning of work to pick up his second win of the season. He is now 2-1.
Caden Barnett earned his first save of the season, pitching two scoreless innings. He did not allow a hit and struckout three.
