RICHMOND, Ky.,  – A pair of wins on the final day of the EKU Beach Volleyball Tournament gave North Alabama a 10-8 overall record, including a perfect 4-0 mark at the event. UNA knocked off Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky by identical 4-1 scores on Saturday to stretch its winning streak to five straight matches and finish the tourney as the only unbeaten team.

In the early match against Austin Peay, four of the five countable matches went to a third set.

UNA grabbed a quick 2-0 lead with three-set wins at the No. 5 and No. 4 positions. Taylor Seney and Allison Temple then outlasted their ASPU opponents for a 24-22, 22-20 win to clinch the match at No. 3. It was the only sweep of the match.

Another three-set win by the Lions at No. 2 extended the lead to 4-0 before the Governors rallied for a 18-21, 21-18, 15-9 win at the top spot.

UNA closed the day with a 4-1 win over the host Colonels with a similar script as the early match.

The Lions swept through the No. 5 and No. 4 positions to take a 2-0 lead. Seney and Temple again provided the clinching point with a 21-12, 18-21, 13-13 win at the No. 3 spot.

The final matches at the top two positions also went to third sets. EKU avoided the shutout with a 23-21, 17-21, 15-13 win at No. 2 before the Lions finished the day with a 28-26, 18-21, 15-12 win at No. 1.

UNA is set to play Austin Peay two more times on Wednesday. The Governors are set to host a duel on Wednesday with the first match set to begin at 1 p.m. on the ASPU campus.
