FLORENCE, Ala. -- North Alabama rallied from an 11-point deficit to take the lead with just over nine minutes to play, but UNA couldn't hold on as Liberty claimed a 67-57 women's basetball win at CB&S Bank Arena.
UNA trailed 15-7 after the first period and 31-25 at the half.
The Lions came out of the half and outscored the Flames 21-14 in the third period to make it 46-45 lead after three. Another basket pushed it to 48-45 with 9:27 left but Liberty would outscore UNA 22-9 over the closing minutes for the win.
Jade Moore led UNA with 11 points,
Alexis Callins added 10 and
Olivia Jones had nine.
Hina Suzuki assisted on 11 of the Lions' baskets.
Liberty held a decisive 43-26 rebounding advantage but UNA forced 13 Flame turnovers, while only losing the ball nine times.
North Alabama is now 9-13 overall and 4-7 with seven regular season games to play.
UNA plays at eastern Kentucky on Thursday, February 14.
