RICHMOND, Ky. -- Eastern Kentucky scored the first eight points to open the game and North Alabama was never able to take a lead as the Colonels took a 76-63 win over the Lions in ASUN Conference play.
UNA trailed 21-9 at the end of the first period and 37-23 at the half before outscoring EKU 22-19 in the third period. The Lions could never close the gap in the final period as the Colonels pushed their final advantage back to 13 points.
Skyler Gill led UNA with 21 points, just one point off of her season-high.
Emma Kate Tittle added 15 points and
Alyssa Clutter 11. Gill also led the Lions with 11 rebounds and Tittle had seven.
The Lions hit just five of 20 three-point attempts, and struggled at the free throw line, making just eight of 17 free throw attempts.
With the loss, North Alabama is now 10-14 overall and 5-8 in ASUN Conference play with five conference games remaining.
The Lions will play at Bellarmine at noon on Sunday.
