NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The University of North Alabama beach volleyball team split its Saturday matches at the Green Wave Invitational to open the Lions' 2023 season. UNA downed Nicholls State 5-0 in the opening match before falling to fifth ranked LSU, 5-0.
In the opening match, UNA's pair of
Paula Klemperer and
Taylor Seney picked up a win at No. 1, while
Mackenzie Martin and
Katy Floyd won at No. 2,
Martha McLaurin and
Selma Robinson at No. 3,
Natalie Kordt and
Jelena Girod at No. 4 and
Kati Anderson and
Abby Robertson at No. 5.
The Lions were swept in the second match by No. 5 LSU, with the No. 1 pair taking the Tigers to a third set.
UNA will play Tulane at 9:30 Sunday morning and New Orleans at 12:15.
