JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- North Alabama allowed seven runs over the first two innings and never recovered as the Lions dropped an 8-4 decision to Jacksonville State in the final game of a three-game ASUN Conference series.
UNA led 1-0 with a run in the top of the first inning but allowed three runs in the bottom of the inning and four in the second to go down 7-1. The Lions put three runs on the board in the third inning to trim the lead 7-4 but never got closer. JSU added an insurance run in the fourth.
With the loss, UNA is now 17-6 overall and 0-3 in ASUN play.
 In the first inning,
Sidney Bevis was hit-by-pitch and scored on a
Hailey Jones double.
JSU's three runs in the bottom of the first came on two hits and two hit batters.
A three-run Linley Tubbs home run was the big blow in the second inning.
In UNA's half of the third,
Felicity Frame led off with a triple and scored on a Bevis RBI-single. Jones then homered to score two runs.
Frame led UNA in the game with three hits, while Jones drove in three.
Hannah Price (4-2) took the loss for UNA. She allowed seven runs on four hits over an inning and two-thirds.
The Lions host Samford on Wednesday at the Hilda B. Anderson Softball Complex.
