FLORENCE, Ala. – After continuous weather delays on Friday and Saturday, North Alabama and Lipscomb were finally able to get in their ASUN Conference double-header in at Mike Lane Field late Saturday, with the Bisons taking 7-2 and 13-2 wins.
With the losses, UNA is now 6-24 overall and 0-12 in the ASUN.
In the opener, Lipscomb scored two runs in the first inning and oushed its lead to 6-0 before the Lions got on the board with two runs in the eighth inning.
Gehrig Frei reached on an error and eventually scored and
Jonathan Lane singled and scored on a
Kyle Machado double.
Lipscomb added a final run in the ninth.
Jacob Bradshaw (1-3) took the loss for UNA, allowing five runs on four hits over four innings.
Machado led UNA with two hits in the game.
In the nightcap, UN led 1-0 after two innings but the Bisons scored four runs in the third inning and three in the fifth for a 7-1 lead. The Lions got another run in the seventh but Lipscomb added six runs in the eighth and took the 13-2 win by run-rule after eight.
Jacob James (1-3) took the loss for UNA. He allowed seven runs on seven hits, with eight walks and seven strikeouts.
