FLORENCE, Ala. -- University of North Alabama senior tennis player Carlos Matarredona Valor of Alicante, Spain ., has been named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Tennis team.

The All-District team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes women's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
 
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 1.

A three-year starter who has played 52 singles matches and 32 doubles matches at UNA, Matarreddona has a 3.54 cumulative grade point average as he pursues his MBA.

Matarredona was part of the 2023 ASUN Conference Doubles Pair of the Year, along with Nazar Fedoryshyn that went undefeated in regular season conference play. This season he had a 4-13 singles record, playing seven matches at No. 1 and 10 at No. 2. His 12-4 doubles record included going 10-3 at No. 1 and 2-1 at No. 2.
