CHOUDRANT, La. (September 12, 2023) – The University of North Alabama men's golf team finished in 14th place on Tuesday in the Argent Financial Classic hosted by Louisiana Tech at Squire Creek Country Club.
 
The Lions rounded out the tournament with an 879 total after tallying a one-over-par 289 total in the third round. Three teams tied for first place, including Southern Mississippi, UAB and Louisiana. All three schools closed out the match with an 855 total.
 
Individually, North Alabama freshman Andrew Ferworn tied for 28th with a one-over-par 217 total. Ferworn had a team tournament-best four-under-par 68 in the final round of the tournament. Henry Frizzell placed tied for 33rd, just one stroke behind Ferworn, with a 218 tournament total. Sebastian Bengtsson finished tied for 63rd with a 224. Corey Maher finished his first tournament as a Lion tied for 67th with a 225, while Eric Luo placed tied for 76th with a 227.
 
Ferworn and Luo led the Lions with 11 birdies each. Ferworn birdied four of the first six holes in round three of the tournament.
 
The Lions' next tournament comes on Sept. 24-26 with the Graeme McDowell Invitational hosted by UAB at the Limestone Springs Golf Club in Oneonta, Ala.
