ATLANTA (April 22, 2024) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced Monday that University of North Alabama women's golfer
Jahnavi Prakhya was named to the ASUN All-Conference third team following her junior campaign. Prakhya capped off the season with back-to-back top 10 finishes, including a ninth-place finish at the ASUN Championship.
Prakhya's third team all-conference selection is the first ASUN postseason award in program history.
Prakhya opened up the fall season with an eighth place finish at the Hoover Invitational before turning in her first top five placement of the season in the APSU Intercollegiate on Sept. 26.
The Gujarat, India native placed in the top 15 in five consecutive events to end the spring campaign. Prakhya hit her stride beginning on March 12 with a 15th place finish in the Chris Banister Golf Classic before placing sixth in the Bama Beach Bash the following week.
Prakhya tied for 14th place in the Lady Bison Classic in Panama City Beach, Fla. on March 24 prior to jumping back in the top 10 with an eighth-place finish at the Brickyard Collegiate to close out the regular season.
The junior placed ninth in the 2024 ASUN Championship just one year removed from a 13th place finish in the tournament. The top 10 finish at RTJ Hampton Cove is the best conference tournament finish in Division I program history, topping her record from last season.
