PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (April 3, 2024) –
Eric Luo led all individuals in the third round of the Golfweek/Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate on Wednesday in Pawleys Island, S.C. before play came to an unfortunate end due to weather. Luo was in the middle of a six-under-par third round through 12 holes before the weather cancellation, putting him one stroke ahead in the tournament lead before weather reverted his score to a 140 to tie him for sixth place.
The University of North Alabama Men's Golf team placed fourth out of 19 teams after two completed rounds.
Luo impressed during his third day, picking up four birdies and an eagle alongside zero bogeys through 12 holes. Luo's performance helped North Alabama jump one spot into third place before the suspension of play.
"I am very proud of Eric's perseverance and performance in difficult conditions today," said Schmitz Family Head Men's Golf Coach Austin Phillips. "It was one of the most impressive performances I have ever seen."
Luo led all 100 individual performers at 10-under-par before play was canceled with all individuals on the back nine. The sophomore from Katy, Texas was seeking his first-ever individual victory and led second place golfer Cole Ekert of Richmond by one stroke.
North Alabama finishes the tournament with a 572 total after rounds of 283 and 289. Despite Long Island's lead in the final day, the weather suspension results in a Richmond victory with a 570 total. Long Island and Valparaiso tie for second place, while UNA finishes fourth. UNA placed ahead of UConn, Austin Peay, Marshall, Kansas City, Central Arkansas, Southern Illinois, Delaware, Xavier, James Madison, Denver, Jacksonville State, Stephen F. Austin, Ohio, Northern Kentucky and USC Upstate.
Luo placed sixth with a 140 total, while
Sebastian Bengtsson finished with a two-round total of 143. Bengtsson picked up five birdies in his second round to leave him tied for 15th place.

Chase Kaiser tied for 33rd place with a 146.
