ATLANTA (May 6, 2024) – The Atlantic Sun Conference announced the Academic All-ASUN team for softball Monday afternoon, naming University of North Alabama veterans Sidney Bevis and Hailey Jones as two of the 11 student-athletes to earn honors.

The team is voted on by the league's sports information directors and academic representatives. To be eligible, a student-athlete must have a cumulative 3.50 GPA or higher, participate in 50 percent or more games, have completed four semesters of coursework and must have one year of residence at the institution.

Bevis, a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection last season, adds another academic honor to her resume. The senior outfielder batted .220 for the season with 29 hits, including three doubles and two triples. She scored 19 runs and struck out only 13 times in 149 plate appearances. Bevis is majoring in elementary education.

Jones earns the academic honor for the first time in her career. The junior infielder batted .293 for the season, finishing with 48 hits, 13 doubles, two triples and six home runs. Jones ranked second on the team with 33 RBIs and struck out just eight times in 176 at-bats. She is majoring in general biology.
