FLORENCE, Ala. (August 14, 2024) – The University of North Alabama soccer team hosts UT Martin for its first game of the season on Thursday, August 15 at 7 p.m. at the Florence Sportsplex. This is the fourth all-time meeting between the Lions and Skyhawks.
Live stats will be available at RoarLions.com via StatBroadcast. The game will be broadcasted via WLX Radio on 98.3 and 103.5 FM with "Voice of the Lions" Benjamin Ray and Amy Butler Bailey on the call. The game will not be streamed on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY: The University of North Alabama soccer team has an all-time record of 1-2 against the Skyhawks. The prior three meetings came in 1998, 1999 and 2021 where the Lions recorded their lone win in 1999 in overtime.
SCOUTING THE SKKHAWKS: UT Martin completes two exhibition games before traveling to Florence but will be starting their season against the Lions. Last season, the Skyhawks finished with a 5-8-6 overall record and a 2-2-5 conference record that landed them the sixth-place finish.
NEW TERRITORY: The Florence Sportsplex hosts six of the Lions' home matches this season as renovations begin for Bank Independent Stadium. The UT Martin matchup is one of two non-conference games slated for the new home turf.
PRESEASON OUTLOOK: The Lions completed an exhibition match against UAB in Birmingham on Thursday, August 8. There are 19 returners on the roster this season and 12 newcomers. Last season, the Lions finished 11-5-6 overall and 5-3-3 in Atlantic Sun Conference play while making a run to the ASUN Championship Final.
NEXT GAME: Following the home opener against UT Martin, the Lions play a neutral site match in Huntsville, Ala. at Joe Davis Stadium against Jacksonville State on Sunday, August 18 at 7 p.m.
