FLORENCE, Ala. (August 28, 2024) – Once a month, the University of North Alabama Department of Athletics features local student-athletes with ties to the Shoals area with the monthly "Homegrown Series" presented by First Southern Bank.
This edition features redshirt senior linebacker
Jackson Bratton. The former Muscle Shoals High School standout made his debut for the Lions on Saturday against SEMO, recording 10 tackles and a game-high 2.5 tackles for loss.
Prior to UNA, Bratton was a four-star recruit on all major recruiting sites and was rated the No. 6 player in the state of Alabama in the 2020 class. He committed to the University of Alabama, where he spent two seasons with the Crimson Tide. He went on to play for UAB for two seasons after that, recording 70 tackles last season to rank second on the team.
Bratton is one of the many Muscle Shoals products on the roster this season, joining guys like graduate safety
Caleb McDougle, sophomore defensive lineman
Jyheam Ingram and offensive lineman
Collin Wright. McDougle followed Bratton at Alabama before joining the Lions.
Bratton and the Lions are back in action this week against Memphis. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.
