8. SERIES HISTORY: Saturday will mark the 36th all-time meeting, but the first since 2017. West Georgia joined the Gulf South Conference in 1983, over a decade after UNA joined as a charter member in 1971. The two foes played every season from 1983-2017 before UNA departed for FCS. West Georgia followed those footsteps this season and are now members of both the Atlantic Sun Conference and the United Athletic Conference for football.
9. SERIES RECORDS: The Lions have a 22-13 record against West Georgia. UNA dominated the series in Florence with a 13-4 record at Braly Stadium. However, the Wolves have proven tougher at home, with the series tied 9-9 in Carrollton. The Wolves have a three-game home winning streak over UNA, as a win by the Lions would be the first in Carrollton since 2010.
10. FREQUENT OPPONENT: Though no meetings at the FCS level yet, the Lions have played West Georgia more than any other current FCS member with 35 meetings. The second-most played FCS member for UNA is UT Martin, who the Lions faced two weeks ago for the 34th time. UNA's most played rivals are West Alabama (71), Delta State (61), Jacksonville State (50), Troy (44), Valdosta State (42), Mississippi College (35) and West Georgia (35).
11. LIONS AGAINST GEORGIA SCHOOLS: This will be the 102nd game between UNA and a team from the state of Georgia. The Lions have a 65-35-1 record against Peach State schools. Of the 101 games, 77 have come against either West Georgia or Valdosta State. The Lions are 47-29-1 against those two opponents. UNA's last win over a Georgia school came in 2018 against Shorter.
12. UNA LUNCH HOUR ON WEDNESDAYS AT 306 BBQ: Fans are reminded to head over to 306 Barbecue in downtown Florence every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. during football season for the UNA Lunch Hour.
