FLORENCE, Ala. (January 27, 2025) – The University of North Alabama will honor UNA Hall of Fame coaches Mike D. Lane and Bobby Wallace on Saturday, February 1 during UNA's basketball doubleheader inside CB&S Bank Arena. Both legendary coaches will be the field namesakes at Bank Independent Stadium.

The doubleheader begins at 5:30 p.m. with the UNA women taking on West Georgia. The UNA men will play Central Arkansas at 7:45 p.m. The field naming ceremony will occur between the two games.

The two coaches will be in attendance, as well as former and current coaches, student-athletes and staff to celebrate this significant naming.

On November 27, 2024, the Florence-Lauderdale Convention and Visitors Bureau named the field at Bank Independent Stadium Bobby Wallace Field in honor of the Lions' legendary head football coach who saw the team through three Division II National Championships in 1993, 1994, and 1995.

The University of North Alabama Foundation committed to naming the baseball field in honor of Mike D. Lane, UNA's head baseball coach who led the team achieve 25 straight winning seasons from his hire in 1984 until his retirement in 2008.
