FLORENCE, Ala. (January 6, 2024) – The University of North Alabama baseball team announced the non-conference schedule for the 2025 season on Monday. The non-conference schedule includes four non-conference home games at the newly-constructed Mike D. Lane Field at Bank Independent Stadium.
"Our 2025 schedule was put together to grow as a program," said North Alabama head coach Jad Prachniak. "We targeted teams and environments that would challenge us. We are looking forward to competing against some of the best teams in the country. We will have the opportunity to play against eight opponents that have competed in a NCAA Regional within the previous two years, including three of the last four National Champions. The goal of our non-conference schedule was to get prepared for ASUN conference play and stay sharp throughout the year. This slate of games will certainly accomplish that."

NOTES
NEW DIGS: In June 2024, the University of North Alabama began construction for Bank Independent Stadium, which will house the baseball, football and soccer teams starting in 2026. The Lions will play home games at the new stadium in 2025, the same location that housed Mike D. Lane Field. This past November, the UNA Foundation announced that the baseball facility will be named Mike D. Lane Field at Bank Independent Stadium.
CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER: North Alabama's 2025 non-conference schedule features three of the last four NCAA National Championship winners. The last four winners of the Men's College World Series are Tennessee in 2024, LSU in 2023, Ole Miss in 2022 and Mississippi State in 2021. The Lions will get started on February 25 in Knoxville against the Volunteers, the most recent National Champion. The Lions will play an away series against the LSU Tigers on March 7-9 and close out their non-conference season against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on May 13.
POSTSEASON POWER: In addition to Tennessee, LSU and Mississippi State, North Alabama adds onto its mountain of a schedule with two more opponents that qualified for the NCAA postseason in 2024. The first of those is Army, who UNA will host at Toyota Field, home of the Rockey City Trash Pandas. The other team that qualified last season is Alabama, who also competes with the Lions at Toyota Field in March.
IT JUST MEANS MORE: North Alabama competes against five SEC teams on the diamond this season spanning across seven games. In addition to Tennessee, Alabama, LSU and Mississippi State, the Lions will also travel to the Auburn Tigers on February 19. This will be the first true road game of 2025.
HOME AWAY FROM HOME: The Lions will continue their strong partnership with the Rocket City Trash Pandas and the City of Huntsville this season, playing four games at Toyota Field. The Rocket City Trash Pandas, a Double-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, occupy the stadium nestled into Madison, Ala. UNA plays as the host team during the Army weekend series to open the season. The Alabama Crimson Tide come up in March and will be designated the home team for the single game.
WELCOME BACK: The Lions compete against six teams that they met during their 2024 non-conference games slate. Last season, North Alabama hosted Murray State, UAB, Samford, Belmont and UT Martin in Florence. UNA also traveled to Samford, Murray State, Belmont and Mississippi State.
